I started working again yesterday. Back at McDonald's for a while, at least. Last night was my first day, and I'm still exhausted even though I have to go back in two hours again. This summer's hours already rock, though. Since the summer hours started Sunday (lobby open til midnight), I am the new "til-midnight" crew person, lol. I'm working 4 or 5 til midnight during the week, and then starting next weekend I'll be the additional crew person on third shift on Friday and Saturday nights. It actually works out really well for me, and I love the hours. Night is definitely my favorite time to work there.
Well, I got my letter a couple weeks ago confirming that I have been accepted at Rock Valley College for this fall! I have an appointment next Friday morning with an advisor so I can start registering for my classes. I'm very excited to be going there now. In case I haven't mentioned it, I will be getting my certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling, which I'll be able to start doing after school without needing any supervised hours. I'm super excited and can't wait to start school again!
The last couple days I've been stressing over trying to figure out how to get to Chicago this Friday night. For my birthday this year (on Wednesday, guys! lol) my parents bought me tickets to see Nine Inch Nails in Chicago!!! I am SOOOO excited about the concert!!! But it's pretty difficult trying to figure out how to get there. My friend Nick is going with me, and he's driving. He doesn't want to drive in Chicago at all, so we were going to jump on the train in Harvard, IL, and take that into the city. The only problem is that once we get into Chicago, we're still going to be almost 3.5 miles from the venue. My knee is still pretty bum, so I don't want to walk that whole distance. The only way to get to the venue then is to take like 2 different buses, then on the way back since it's going to be around midnight we'll have to take either one bus and 2 trains or 3 trains or something stupid like that. Either way, it will end up costing about $14 each to get there and around $16 each to get home! Hopefully we'll be able to figure something out, I need to save my money to buy a shirt at the show!
Other than that, I guess there isn't much going on right now. I'm going to take my camera Friday night, so maybe this weekend I'll have to stray from my strict writing-only policy on this account and post some pictures of the concert! Otherwise, I'll try to be online more often, so hopefully I'll talk to you all soon!!
